Supercare

For your convenience, we offer a number of payment options.

With SuperCare, you can pay for essential dental treatments using your super annuation.

SuperCare is an Australian company that helps access Early Release of Super to pay for essential dental treatments. SuperCare streamlines the application process required to access superannuation to pay for dental procedures as are necessary for yourself or your dependents, e.g. your spouse, partner or your child.

SuperCare is not a superannuation fund nor a financial services company. It is a type of funding assistance that allows patients to access their superannuation fund early so they can pay for the dental procedure they require. You can access your superannuation today and do not have to wait until you are 65 years old or over.

Underthe ATO’s compassionate release of superannuation program, Superannuation savings can fund essential treatments. With SuperCare you can pay all out of pocket expenses, including private hospital fees.

we believe that having good dental health is crucial for everyone to eat and live healthy. More importantly, in this modern times, being able to live pain free and not be burdened by dental issues should be a right for every one.

If you are putting off getting vital dental treatment due financial issues, you may be eligible to apply for a compassionate release of superannuation to address your dental concerns.

Typical presentations that can be debilitating to your healthcare:
- Multiple loose or decayed teeth that are painful to eat on-Missing teeth or poor fitting dentures that no longer allow you to eat or function properly
- Heavily worn teeth that have now progressed to chronic jaw pain
- Missing teeth that are affecting your mental wellbeing, ability to seek employment and affecting your self esteem.

Does any of the above sound like what you are experiencing? Consider booking a consultation with our dentists and get assessed properly.

Definitions by the ATO

When applying for compassionate release of superannuation, you need to understand the rules set by the ATO. There is a thorough list of conditions that can be found right here:

Here is a simplification of the general parameters:

  • You must be local (meaning citizen or permanent residents of Australia or newzealand only)
  • You or your dependant must receive the dental/medical treatment to treat acute or chronic pain OR to alleviate acute or chronic mental illness.
  • The said dental treatment is not readily available through the public health system.
  • The treatment expense is yet to be paid
  • And you can’t afford to pay for part or all of the treatment without accessing your super- When you claim that you can’t afford it, it means you can not get funding from using savings, selling investments, accessing public schemes and funds or borrowing money (payment plans).
  • You have the supporting evidence to show that you need treatment

Should I withdraw from my superannuation for dental care?

Here is why ATO is strict on individuals trying to access the super prematurely. The purpose of your superannuation is to have savings put away for your retirement. This money accumulates and compounds over time. A small contribution every month from your employer or yourself will eventually rollover into a large amount that can support you in your later years. The earlier the withdrawal is made, the less you will have in the future.
That said, you need to weigh up the current medical condition that you are experiencing vs. the funds that you will have access to in the future. The choice is yours. One may argue that being able to eat normal healthy foods now and being pain free means you can actually live a decent life and are less likely to accumulate chronic health problems. On the other hand, another may argue that if you struggle to meet future expenses, retirement will be horrible. This is a decision that should be well thought through and you have to take responsibility to be well informed before you make up your mind. If possible, it is recommended to access our Humm payment plans or pacing yourself with your dental treatment.

If you are uncertain what the cost and involvement are required to restore your dental health, it is time you organise a comprehensive examination with one of our clinicians. We have dentists that can help you understand your dental condition better and go through the different options available to you. To assist you in the application, we also partner with SuperCare to facilitate the process so you get the funds you need for treatment
